DEVELOPMENT PRODUCER

Wild Yak Productions is a London based independent production company, headed by Producer Oliver King. We specialise in bringing international work to new audiences and developing new writing. We’re expanding our team in film & television and seek an experienced Development Producer to further our slate of projects.

 

Overview of role

To oversee creatively on originating and developing ideas, deck and sizzle reel creation, and pitching. This person will lead the creative response to incoming briefs as well as managing an existing and dynamic slate of scripted and unscripted projects.

 

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop new ideas for unscripted and scripted film and television content.

• Tracking, logging, and reviewing scripted and unscripted materials.

• Track writers, directors and organisations, and create weekly development reports.

• Write and design compelling pitch decks that clearly convey ideas and concepts for new projects.

• Edit selects and sizzle reels for pitching.

• In-depth knowledge of the current film and television landscape and emerging trends within the industry.

• Collaborate with the Wild Yak team to brainstorm and refine ideas, ensuring they are innovative and commercially viable.

• Analyse current film and TV programming and market trends, locally and internationally, to identify gaps and opportunities for new content.

 

Experience

• Minimum two years working at Researcher/AP or Producer level in a development environment for film/TV.

• The ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
